Think ghosts aren’t real? A real estate agent who owns both sides of a semi-detached house contacted us because she couldn’t keep her tenants. They would move in and a few weeks later, would move out because of ghostly activity. They’d claim there was a ghost moving objects!
She had put a lot of work into the place — refinishing the floors, expensive faucets. The house wasn’t the problem. The problem was that things moved — on their own. Ashtrays would slide across the table, and the bathtub taps would turn on full blast by themselves. Was there a ghost moving objects?
Now most spirits, or as some people refer to them – ghosts, don’t manipulate objects. Sometimes this happens when a spirit wants to get your attention to say hi. For example, a family member in spirit may make a photograph fall off a shelf, manipulate electrical appliances (like a radio or TV), or put pennies or dimes in odd spots for you to find.
Another reason that things move is that the spirit wants to get your attention to make you feel uncomfortable. It’s one of the ways they can communicate that they aren’t happy.
Sometimes it’s because things are changing in the premises. For example, spirit activity might become more present because renovations are being done. The spirit may not like “their home” being changed.
Other times, spirit activity happens because they don’t like anyone else to live in the house but them. This is the case of the house with the real estate agent, and can happen in other instances of a ghost moving objects.
When my house clearing partner and I arrived, we immediately tuned into a middle-aged male spirit. This person had been an alcoholic and had died when people were still in the war. He was a mischievous spirit who liked spooking people.
On the third step walking into the house, we psychically smelled vomit. It seems — from what we picked up energetically — that this man would often sit on the stair which would afford him a view of the street through the front door window. As he spent time there, he had left an energetic imprint.
We started to work through all the rooms, clearing old energy imprints, lifting dense and heavy energy to lighten the space, and talking to the spirit as we worked.
Each time we cleared a room, the spirit would run somewhere else and hide. He knew what we were doing and didn’t want to talk to us. He didn’t want to leave the house.
It took the two of us to finally “corner” him and work with him to get him to cross. He had some unresolved issues and needed some help to find peace before he was ready to go into The Light.
Sometimes spirits or ghosts are sad, or angry, or unable to let go of certain issues. It makes them attached to a place or to a person so that they don’t want to leave. A ghost moving objects generally indicates they are expressing that emotion.
In cases like this one, we work with the spirit to resolve issues. Think of it like psychotherapy for spirits or ghosts.
Since that time, we’ve heard from the real estate agent that there is no disturbance in the place and the taps are now quiet. In fact, she herself has moved in and is quite enjoying the place.
